Harry Wallace,'s Obituary
Mr. Wallace, 81 passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007. He was born in Norfolk, VA, on Aug. 18, 1926 to the late Turner P. and Thelma (nee: Stant) Wallace. He has lived in Racine since 1950. He was united in marriage to Bertha Bohn in Berlin, Wisconsin on Aug. 30, 1947. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a truck driver for many years and retired as a security guard at Western Publishing in 1990.
He was a former member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and then he became a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Elisha Raymond Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution where he served as President and Treasurer. He was a Chaplain for the Wisconsin Sons of the American Revolution, a member of the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and the American Legion Post #310.
He is survived by his wife; Bertha I. Wallace, his children, Harry (Linda) Wallace, Jr, Gloria (Michael) Hyduke, Kathryn Newman, Turner (Pamela) Wallace, Andrew Wallace; six grandchildren, Alison, Brian, Jessica (JR), Bethany, Amanda, Scott; one brother, Turner P. Wallace, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Wallace to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church or Sons of the American Revolution Elisha Raymond Chapter have been suggested.
