Harry Goodwin's Obituary
Mr. Goodwin, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints. He was born in Somers, WI, on Dec. 21, 1922 to the late Harry E. and Montie (nee: Bolus) Goodwin. He lived most of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Lucille Thrasher in Racine on March 25, 1944.
He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, retiring from the Air Force Reserves in 1982. He was employed at Young Radiator as a machinist for 42 years retiring in 1983.
He was an active member of First Church of God, 440th Alumni Association, Wisconsin Sheriffs Deputy Sheriffs Association, Air Force Sergeants Association and EAA.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Goodwin, his children: Kathy Goodwin, Rick (Connie) Goodwin, Eric Goodwin, six grandchildren: David (Lindsey), Jennifer, Patrick (Rikki), Brian, Craig, Michael, one great-grandson, Jackson and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a daughter Joan, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at First Church of God 1650 Lathrop Ave, on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009 at 12 Noon with Pastor David Andrews officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave, on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. and also at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
