Harold Kaiser's Obituary
Mr. Kaiser, 95, passed away at the Lincoln Village Convalescent Center on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007. He was born on a farm outside of Racine on Aug. 20, 1911 to the late William and Isabelle Kaiser.
Harold had a long and distinguished career in aviation, including barnstorming the Midwest in the 1930's, a flight instructor at Bush Field in Augusta, Georgia and later at Randolf Field, San Antonio, Texas. In 1947 Harold started a flight operation for Walker Manufacturing Company at Horlick Racine Airport. He was called to active duty in Korea and served, carrying combat cargo and troops. After Korea, Harold resumed his position as chief pilot for Walker Manufacturing and continued flying after Tenneco Company purchased Walker, until his retirement in 1971. He was recently inducted into the Southeast Wisconsin Hall of Fame for his contribution to aviation.
His wife, Esther A. Kaiser predeceased Harold on Dec. 12, 2006. Harold is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Markusen; granddaughter, Rebecca (Brian) Gattoni; great-granddaughter, Teresa Gattoni; great-grandson, Jack Gattoni; sister Arline Hay, former wife Helen Martin and numerous nieces and nephews.
