Harold Leroy Jansen's Obituary
Harold Leroy Jansen, age 77, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove, WI.
On July 13, 1940, Harold was born to Harry L. and Fern E. (nee Toms) Jansen in Tunnel City, WI. Harold proudly served his country in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Ethel May Masterson on October 1, 1966 in Hales Corners, WI. Harold was employed at American Motors, retiring in 1989.
Harold belonged to a few bowling leagues. He was a member of the Classic Cruiser's Car Club. Harold loved dogs and watching Westerns. He was also fond of Elvis music.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Leonard (Kathy) Orth, Karen (John) Roberts, Edward (Tonja) Orth, and Debbie (Mark) Backhaus; his grandchildren: Ryan, Nathan (Lizzie), Michael, Linda, Christopher, Taryn (Thomas), James, Aaron, Hannah, Joe, Stephanie, Melissa, and Noah; great grandchildren; a sister, Lee Martin; nephew, Ben Jr., niece, Cindy (Steve), and nephew, Danny.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Jansen; his parents, Harry and Fern Jansen; his sister, Shirley Droysen; brothers-in–law Ben Martin and Theodore Droysen; grandson, Harrison Owens; and nephew, Harry Martin.
Services for Harold will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Harold will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials made in Harold’s name to the Veterans Home in Union Grove, WI or to the Alzheimer and Dementia Association of WI.
The family wishes to thank the Veterans Home of Wisconsin’s staff at Boland Hall 1 East and to Brianna P., a nurse at Aurora at Home-Hospice, for the compassionate care shown to Harold.
