Grace Agnes Wolfe's Obituary
Racine- Mrs. Grace A. (nee: Lee) Wolfe, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Ridgewood Care Center.
Grace was born in Sylvania, WI on February 1, 1921 to the late Roland and Ada (nee: Johnson) Lee. She was united in marriage to Clifford Murray Wolfe in Dubuque, Iowa on January 20, 1941. Together they shared 37 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on June 26, 1978.
Grace was best known as a very strong, proud, independent woman who lived on her own for 34 years after her husband's death. She had previously been employed as a teaching assistant for Southern Center for many years after raising her family. Grace was also very involved with the United Methodist Church of Union Grove where she donated time to various church committees, played the piano, and taught Sunday School. She had been a member of the Harvest Club, where she made many friends, and traveled extensively in her 70's and 80's to places in Europe, Alaska, and Hawaii. She was also a resident of Fountain Hills for over 10 years where she developed numerous friendships and took part in the many wonderful activities. But, most of all Grace had been devoted to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt.
She will be dearly missed by her children and their spouses, Sandra Joan (William) Swantz, formerly Brudnicki, Danny Dean (Lyn) Wolfe, Cathy Lynn (Brian) Orton and Jayne Sue (Jerome) Dresen; 10 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild; a brother, Don (Carol) Lee; sister, Margaret Welch, as well as many nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; son, Randall Lee Wolfe of Rockford, IL; one sister; and six brothers.
Funeral services in honor of Grace will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00am until the time of service. Private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Grace's honor may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (1120 James Drive, Suite A. Hartland, WI 53029).
Grace's family would like to thank all the staff on 1 East at Ridgewood for their kind and compassionate care.
