Glenn Dyer's Obituary
Mr. Dyer, 78, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints, on Wednesday, September 16, 2009. He was born in Racine on Sept. 2, 1931 to the late Edgar and Lydia (nee: Hamre) Dyer. He lived all of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Delores Gerbensky in Racine, on September 30, 1950.
Mr. Dyer was a baker for 32 years. Mr. Dyer was a baker at Ostergaard Bakery. He owned and operated Dyer's Taylor Avenue Bakery. He retired from Crestwood Bakery in Milwaukee in September 1994. He was a member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church of Racine, Racine Moose Lodge and the Breakfast Club with all of his friends at Crestwood Bakery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Delores; his children, Debbi (Don) Helvick, Steve (LaRae) Dyer, Penny (Doug) Kroes, Lorie (Gary) Cunningham, David (Bobbi) Dyer; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (Robert) Belland, sister-in-law; Joyce Akin, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at St. Michael Episcopal Church 4701 Erie St, on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Terry McGugan officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home 1212 Lathrop Ave, on Friday evening, Sept. 18, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Dyer to St. Michaels Episcopal Church have been suggested.
