Gisela I. Vodenlic's Obituary
Racine-Gisela I. Vodenlic, age 85, went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Berlin, Germany on January 1st, 1935, she was the daughter of Walter and Ida Resselbauer. Gisela came to the United States of America in 1959. It was at the German Club in Racine, where she met the love of her life, Ivan.
Those who knew her would acknowledge and share with us, both our joy in the gift that her life was to us, and the pain her passing brings. The way she touched the lives of everyone that met her will not be forgotten by any. Even though she is gone, she has left the legacy of her love for God, love of family, her perseverance, wisdom and strength. Gisela was the beloved wife of Ivan for 60 years, and together, they cherished a love beyond a fairytale.
She was the loving mother to Susan Schmidt, Tina (Paul) Radke, Ivan (Robin) Vodenlic, and Sabrina (Randy) Visser. Her grandchildren: Jimmy, Eric, Joe, Nathan, Hanna, Jenna, David, Randall and Breyana were always made to feel special and loved.
In addition to Gisela’s spouse, children and grandchildren, she was survived by her great-grandchildren: Desiree, Makayla, Sadie, Max, Chloe, Ryleigh, Jordan, Alexis and Trace, as well as her sister Jutta; sister-in-law, Beatrice: and many nieces and nephews.
From her loving husband: "It would take me two lifetimes to give you back the love you’ve given me in 60 years."
A very special thank you to her dear friend Debbie, whose thoughtfulness, prayers and support will always be remembered. Thank you to Hospice for your kindness and care in the end.
A private funeral service was previously held for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
