Gerhard Dinda's Obituary
Racine - Gerhard Dinda, went to meet his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2020, at his residence surrounded by loved ones.
Gerhard was born on January 30, 1931, to August and Katharina (nee Strauss) Dinda in Gaidaw Luk, Germany. Gerhard proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. On June 15, 1957, Gerhard was united in marriage to Irmgard Winkler. They enjoyed a blessed marriage of 59 years.
Gerhard was a dedicated member to Grace Church. He was also a member of The American Legion. He enjoyed volunteering his time, golfing, woodworking and being surrounded by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to his cherish Gerhard’s memory are his sons: Ernest and Gerald (Sonya) Dinda; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Ryan) Hohnl and Emily (Mitch) Haumersen; great grandchildren: Lilly and Nolan Hohnl; sisters: Helene Dilk and Charlotte Dinda; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gerhard is proceeded in death by his loving wife, Irmgard Dinda; parents, August and Katharina Dinda; sister, Gertrude Kottke; brother, Ernst Dinda; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudolf and Hulda Guenther; sister-in-law, Lilly Guenther; and brothers-in-law: Adolf Kottke and Henry Dilk.
A private interment for Gerhard will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Racine Meals on Wheels program.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and their wonderful staff for their tender care of Gerhard at the end of his earthly life.
