George Frederick Schmidt's Obituary
Racine - George Frederick Schmidt, 87, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center in Racine on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
George was born to the late Jacob and Mae (nee Matson) Schmidt on January 22, 1932, in Racine. He was united in marriage to Antionette Kwas on March 25, 1972 in Racine.
George was a member of the Wisconsin Laborers Local 113, he worked many jobs with the union and retired at the age of 71. George loved taking his family camping during the summer to Lazy Days Campground in Wend Bend, WI. During the winter months he loved to bowl.
Left to cherish George’s memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Antionette; daughters: Sandra Ann Dickbreder and Linda Marie Schmidt; son, Damion Anthony Schmidt; sister, Susan Mae Schmidt-Decker; grandchildren: Christopher, Jacob, Frank, Roseann, Michelle, Aaron, Paul, Jenny, Xavier, Kayleigh, Dylan, and Brendon; nephew, Samuel Travis Decker; and niece, Sarah Mae Matson.
In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his son, Stephen Schmidt; two daughters, Mari Ann and Betty Ann Schmidt; as well as an ex-wife, Rosa Lee Urick.
An Open Mic Celebration of George’s Life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.
