George Minton's Obituary
Kenosha - Mr. George Dewey Minton, 79 passed away quietly surrounded by his family and went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
George Minton was born in Racine to Price James and Minnie Louise (nee: Sheen) Minton on April 19, 1928. He graduated in the class of 1946 from Racine County Ag. School in Rochester. He was united in marriage to Audrey Kathryn Christensen on his birthday, 1947 at the Somers Congregational Church.
George attended the Racine Bible Church. He was employed in construction and retired in 1992. He was a member of the Jaycampers Club and was a Union Grove Little League Coach. George was an avid reader and loved to tell stories. He enjoyed woodcarving, sketching, and was an enthusiastic sports fan. Most importantly, George was a wealthy man, rich in family and love. He was a wonderful grandpa and great grandpa.
Dewey is survived by his wife, Audrey; eight children, Kathryn (Edward) Harmann, Amy (James) Leskowicz, Dan (Suzanne) Minton, Marcia (Michael) LaPointe, Beth Demant, Joel (Connie) Minton, Jeffrey (Debra) Minton, Laurie (Paul) Willems; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; his sister, Melba (Robert) Jester; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Wayne Minton; one sister, Gwen Warner; two grandsons, Christian Willems and Joel Minton Jr.; and his mother-in-law, Edith Hendricksen.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 10:30 am with Rev. John Miesel officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, November 7, 2007 from 4 until 8 pm and on Thursday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 am until service time.
