George E. Jorgenson
RACINE - Mr. George E. Jorgenson, 67, went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday evening, September 20, 2006, after a long illness. He was born in Sauk County on October 19, 1938, to the late Adrian and Marie (nee: Ringelstetter) Jorgenson. He moved to Racine at the age of two years. He was united in marriage to the former Dolores M. Carpenter on July 28, 1973. He was a member of Racine Assembly of God Church. He worked for J.I. Case Company since the age of 19 and continued working there until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the 20-Year Club. He was a graduate of William Horlick High School, Class of 1957. He was a member of the Horlick Athletic Club and Letter Club. He was a great hunter and an avid sportsman. He enjoyed bowling and bowled in many leagues. He is survived by his wife, Dee Jorgenson of Racine; his son, Christopher (Sandy) Jorgenson; and Kelli (nee: Jorgenson) Kitowski. Also survived by his brother, Leroy (Judy) Jorgenson; his sister, Dorothy Klaus; his step-children, Keith (Nancy) Kwapil, Kurt (Gloria) Kwapil, Karrie (Don) Taylor, Kim (Ken) Dahlin, Karen (Don) David, and Leah (Mike) Widder; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Marvin and Alvin Jorgenson. Funeral services will be held at Racine Assembly of God Church, 1325 Airline Road, on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Scott Brownell officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Avenue, on Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. The family extends their many thanks to Odyssey Health Care staff and Lincoln Village Nursing Home for their compassionate care. And, a special thanks to Leah Widder and Christina Kosterman.
