Frederick "Fred" Ronald Sewell's Obituary
Mount Pleasant – Frederick “Fred” Ronald Sewell, 86, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, October 31, 2025, at his residence.
Fred was born in Racine on August 25, 1939, to the late Ronald and Metha (née Hansen) Sewell. He was united in marriage to June Loehner in 1963 in Racine, and together they shared 62 wonderful years of love and devotion.
Fred worked as a machinist for 43 years at several companies, with much of his career spent at Bosch, where he took great pride in his craftsmanship. He retired in 2001. Known for his hardworking nature and steady hands, Fred was the go-to handyman for family and friends—whether it was fixing a car, repairing something around the house, or lending a helping hand. In his free time, Fred enjoyed sailing, riding his lawnmower, and riding horses.
Fred will be deeply missed by his loving wife, June Sewell; his son, James John (Carina) Sewell; daughter, Kim Marie Sewell; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Seitz; and brothers, Dave (Mary) Sewell and Bob (Diane) Sewell. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James H. Sewell.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Memorials in Fred’s name may be directed to the Wisconsin Humane Society Racine Campus (8900 16th St, Mt. Pleasant, WI 53177).
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care and to Dr. Durbin for his dedicated attention and kindness over the years.
