Floyd F. Lemke's Obituary
Prairie du Chien and formerly of Racine - Floyd F. Lemke, 91, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Prairie Maison Care Center in Prairie du Chien.
Floyd was born December 23, 1922 in Kenosha, WI the son of Frederick and Nellie (Woodruff) Lemke. He married Lois Sheffer on November 12, 1949 at Christ Methodist Church in Racine.
Floyd served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II. Floyd worked as an engineer for Dynamatic Corporation in Racine for many years until his retirement. He was known as a great “handyman” among family and friends and was an avid fisherman.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Lemke of Prairie du Chien; his daughters, Rev. Lynn (Steve) Schreck of Seneca, WI and Judy (Ronda Elias) Blank of Coon Rapids, MN; his grandchildren, Curtis Blank, Mark and Scott Schreck; great grandchildren, Athena and Cooper; and his sister-in-law, Kay Lemke of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Raymond and George Lemke.
Funeral services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 5109 Washington Avenue, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM. Entombment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 12:00 PM until the time of services. A visitation will also be held at Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
