Faye Henkel's Obituary
Racine- Faye Estelle Henkel, 78, accepted her Lord's great gift of eternal life on September 14, 2009.
She was born on November 22, 1930 to Alan E. Biehn and Sena Nelson Biehn and lived in Racine all of her life. Faye was united in marriage to Charles Lawrence Henkel on July 1, 1949.
Faye loved so many things. She loved her Lord Jesus and His Church. She was a member of Calvary Memorial Church and served in its funeral ministry for many years. She adored her family and cherished her many special friends. She loved every flower in her garden and considered each a miracle. She was as devoted to her many dogs as they were to her.
She was a proud member of the Washington Park High School Class of 1949. She often talked of those carefree days with great nostalgia. She served as a telephone solicitor for the Purple Heart of Racine for 15 years.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons; Charles Alan Henkel, Paul Alan (Julie) Henkel, and Marc Alan (Linda) Henkel; grandchildren, Paul Alan Henkel, Jr., Sarah Anne Henkel, Amber Marie Henkel, and Amanda Faye Henkel. Her brother, Alan Nelson Biehn also survives. Other surviving relatives include three brothers-in law; Larry (Suzette) Henkel, Tom (Nancy) Henkel, and Jack Christiansen. A border collie named Chubby, her loving companion, also remains. She leaves many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Faye Henkel will be held at Calvary Memorial Church (4001 Washington Ave)on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11am, with Rev. Nathan James officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 6-8pm and also at the church on Monday from 10am until the time of service.
