Eugene Schoessow's Obituary
Racine - Eugene E. Schoessow, 71, died on Saturday, May 26, 2007 in Racine.
Gene was born in Milwaukee on July 3, 1935 to Arnold and Erna (nee: Frenz) Schoessow. He earned a B.A degree at Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. Gene taught and was a Principal of Lutheran Schools in Michigan, Indiana, Milwaukee, and Racine for 43 years. He spent five years as a Headmaster in the South Australian Education Department in Adelaide, South Australia. Gene was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.
Gene is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julie (nee: Millen), a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie (David) Gorlewski of West Allis; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Molly) Schoessow; three grandchildren, Caroline, Matthew, and Thomas Schoessow of all of Wyoming, Minnesota; one sister, Virginia Moeller of Elm Grove; one brother, Donald Schoessow of Franklin; one sister-in-law, Ada Schoessow of Wauwatosa; and one brother-in-law, Oliver Kartheiser of Port Washington. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home in Racine on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 7 pm. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 until 7 pm. There will also be a memorial service held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 11111 W. Capital Drive, Milwaukee on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 12 noon. A visitation will be held prior to the 12-noon service from 10 am until service time. Private inurnment services will follow. Rev. Craig Moeller, a nephew, will conduct the services. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to Mt. Calvary Lutheran School Building Fund, 2862 N. 53rd Street, Milwaukee, WI 53210.
