Ethel Hess' Obituary
Mrs. Donald (Ethel) Hess (nee: Fredrickson) went home to be with her lord Tuesday February 12, 2008 at the age of 93 years. She was born in Racine on August 15, 1914 and lived here all her life. On February 1, 1933 she was united in marriage to Donald Hess who preceded her in death on August 7, 1994.
She was a charter member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. She worked at Piggly Wiggly on Grove Ave. for 12 years. Her special love was helping animals. She helped found the Racine County Humane Society in 1935 and The Countryside Humane Society of Today. Mrs. Hess is survived by her children, Vicky Lynn (George) Durben and Terry (Sue) Hess; one granddaughter, Felicia Marie Hess; one sister and brother-in-law, June and George Depelecyn; one brother-in-law, Alvin Hess; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Hess is preceded in death by her parents, Sigurd and Ragnhild Fredrickson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther (Bruno) Kaglioti and Florence (Clarence) Sorenson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy (Luella) Fredrickson and Harold (Helen) Fredrickson. Funeral Services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home, 1212 Lathrop Ave., on Monday February 18, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Relatives and Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials to the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church or Countryside Humane Society have been suggested. A Special thanks: To a very special caregiver for the last eight years, thank you Elaine.
