Esther Roeckl's Obituary
Esther Roeckl passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, in Oak Creek. She was 95.
Esther was born on Feb. 2, 1931, in Port Washington, the daughter of Julia (Arendt) and Joseph Kolbach.
Esther was united in marriage to Ed Roeckl on May 7, 1949, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. They had three daughters.
Esther was a homemaker and active at St. Francis Borgia in Cedarburg, where the family lived for many years. Esther enjoyed sewing and home economics classes at MATC.
Ed and Esther moved to Mount Pleasant in 1997. For 10 years they enjoyed traveling to Fred Astaire ballroom dancing competitions. Esther also was active in swim classes at the YMCA in Racine. The couple were members of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Racine for 23 years, and Esther was later a member of St. James Catholic Church in Franklin.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Kenneth) Grebe of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and Betty (John) Nelander of Sparks, Maryland; grandchildren: David (Ashley) Grebe and Lauren (Eric Vogt) Grebe, and Jennifer (Drew) Berman, as well as five great grandsons and two great granddaughters.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband Ed of 72 years and a daughter, Delores.
Services for Esther will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with committal services will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on Highway 32 in Racine.
