Elizabeth Norton Siler
RACINE – Elizabeth Norton Siler, age 95, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Becker Shoop Center. Beloved daughter of the late Overton and Emegene (Winegar) Norton, she was born on July 3, 1919 in Oak Park, IL.
Elizabeth graduated from National College in Evanston, Illinois with a Master’s Degree, and later worked for Westview Nursing Home and the Lincoln Lutheran organization. She was previously a member of Christ Church United Methodist, where she volunteered regularly. She also volunteered for the United School Districts early reading program. Some of her favorite hobbies were making beautiful needlepoint handwork, and knitting scarves, from which she would donate the proceeds to her favorite charities.
Surviving are her three children, Norman Siler, Carolyn (David Willing) Siler and Barbara (the late Ray) Meshell; a daughter-in-law, Robin; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brother and sister, Overton Perry Norton Jr. (Roberta) and Margaret Marilyn Norton Delach (John.)
Graveside services will be held at Greenridge Cemetery in Kenosha on December 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
The family is forever grateful for the personal care provided by the Lincoln Lutheran staff for Beautiful Bettie, which added many years and much joy to her life.
The family wishes to also thank the extended Hospice Alliance team that helped us make the most of our time with Mom, you helped heal our tender and at times, tired spirits.
