Elaine Jennieva Hedrington's Obituary
Racine - Elaine Jennieva Hedrington, age 87, went home to be with the Lord, Jesus on June 6, 2022.
Elaine was born in Alexandria, LA to Elijah Pollard and Mary (nee Smith) Brown on August 22, 1934. She was united in marriage to Claudius E. Hedrington Sr. in Illinois on May 7, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2002. Elaine was employed as a CNA for Lincoln Village Nursing Home.
Elaine had many interests and hobbies, such as, drawing, sewing, knitting, and dancing. She had a wonderful voice and loved singing. She also dabbled in writing, especially to the Racine Journal Times, opinion page. Elaine enjoyed shopping for clothing. She appreciated dressing up extravagantly whenever she was out. She treasured the pictures she would take of herself wearing lavish clothing. Elaine’s favorite hobby was fashion modeling, mostly hosted by the American Legion.
Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her children: Claudius Jr. (Beverly), Brenda, Frederick (Zenobia), and Rodrico Hedrington; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Warren (Hattie) Brown; sister, Lilly Pipkins; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Carrol and Carrie Smith; brothers: Calvin (Betty) Pollard, Archie Brown, and Sterling Brown; sisters: Gloria Williams and Gladys McKinney; and daughter-in-law, Fawn Hedrington.
Per Elaine’s wishes, she will be cremated and inurned with her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park.
