Racine / Kenosha - Mr. Edwin L. Wrixton, 82, passed away at Washington Manor in Kenosha on September 2, 2006.
Edwin Wrixton was born in Racine to the late Ernest and Marie (nee: Jacobson) Wrixton on August 7, 1924.
Mr. Wrixton was employed by the American Motors / Chrysler Corp. for 26 years retiring in 1983. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe. Mr. Wrixton was a member of the American Legion Post #171 and UAW Local 172. He was an avid fisherman and loved model railroading and woodworking.
Edwin is survived by his children, Steve Wrixton of Racine, Cory Wrixton of Union Grove, Joy (Darrel) Hossalla of Racine, and Lori (Tim) McGovern of Liberty Twp, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Julee) Wrixton, Wendy (Troy) Wagner, Brian Wrixton, Tonja Hossalla, Faith Petersen, Justin McGovern, and Collin McGovern; two great grandchildren, Victor and Greta; his brother, Curtis Hare of Minocqua; two sisters Lillian Larsen and Leona Mainland both of Racine; and other relatives and friends.
Inurnment services with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #171 will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 11 am.
