Edwin Hugh Anderson's Obituary
Caledonia – Edwin “Hugh” Anderson, 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Caledonia on June 21, 2025, after a battle with liver disease.
Hugh was born on March 5, 1956, in Kenosha, to Patricia and Edwin Anderson. His mother later remarried and became Patricia Bischoff. Hugh spent his early years in Kenosha before moving temporarily to Utah, where he earned his GED from Davis County Adult High School on August 31, 1976. He briefly lived in Arizona before returning to Wisconsin in 1978.
That same year, Hugh began working as a welder at Bert Jensen & Sons, where he remained until an injury and the company’s closure led to his retirement in 2010. A proud tradesman, Hugh was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #18.
In 1989, Hugh met the love of his life, Gwendolyn “Wendy” Paiga. Though they didn’t begin dating until December of that year, their connection quickly grew. They were married on June 1, 1991, at Calvary Memorial Church by Pastor Nathan James, and shared 34 years of devoted partnership. Together they raised one son, David, who brought immense joy to Hugh’s life.
Hugh was an avid outdoorsman with a special passion for bowhunting—particularly deer. He took pride in crafting his own ammunition. He was a lifelong fan of the Brewers and Packers and he enjoyed following Wisconsin sports. He also attended Calvary Memorial Church.
Hugh will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Wendy and their son, David; his brothers, Mark (Cheri) Anderson of Arizona and Danny (Debbie) Anderson of Virginia; his sisters, Carol (Chuck) Krack of Kenosha and Beth (Don) Wadley of Arizona; his in-laws, Joan and David Paiga; sister-in-law, Amy (Dan) De Yong; and brother-in-law, Dan Paiga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Patricia; and his sisters, Kathy Wadley and Mary (Jim) Nuti.
A private celebration of Edwin’s life will be held at a later date.
