Edward "Ed" James Jensen's Obituary
Racine – Edward “Ed” James Jensen, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa.
Ed was born to the late Wilbur and Deloris (nee Schmidt) Jensen on June 25, 1947, in Minot, North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Betty” Fornal on January 27, 1968, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Racine.
Ed worked as a truck driver for Dart Transportation for several years, eventually retiring from the company. Ed was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, archery, and trap shooting. He was even part of the Belle City Sportsman’s Club in Racine. Ed also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing cribbage. In his retirement years, Ed enjoyed sitting in the sun in his backyard. While doing this, he would drink his coffee with his dogs, Peaches and Willow, by his side.
Ed will be deeply missed by his wife, Betty Jensen; children: Michael Jensen, Katie Jensen (Randy Bohn), Pamela (Daniel) Gomez, and Danny Jensen; grandchildren: Alysa, Cameron, Sam, and Kenny; great-grandson, Lucas; brothers: Roger Jensen, Bruce Jensen, Ronnie Jensen, and Brian (Donna) Jensen; sister, Mary Lou (Paul) Baker; along with several other relatives and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his infant brother, William Jensen; sister, Linda Foister; niece, Melissa Jensen; and sister-in-law, Beverly Jensen.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Memorials in Ed’s name may be directed to Racine Veterinary Hospital (5748 Taylor Avenue, Racine, WI 53403).
The family would like to extend a special thank you both medical staff from Ascension All Saints in Racine and Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa for their wonderful care for Ed.
