Edward Chvilicek's Obituary
Racine - Edward L. Chvilicek, 84, passed away at his home on October 26, 2011.
Edward was born in Racine to the late Louis and Angelina (nee: Pollack) Chvilicek on July 4, 1927. He lived in Racine all his life. In Racine on March 13, 1948, he was united in marriage to Audrey Mae Olsen for 57 years until she preceded him in death on January 31, 2006.
Ed was owner and operator of the Hillside Sand and Gravel Company for many years. He was an avid fisherman and bowler. Ed especially enjoyed many years of card playing with his wife in numerous card clubs. His games of choice were Schafkopf and Cribbage. He loved to dance and listen to Polka music. In his later years, he enjoyed going to the Fireside Theater in Fort Atkinson and the Penguin Club of Racine.
Ed is survived by four children, Michael (Pamela) Chvilicek, Jean (Dick) Kass, Thomas (Kathi) Chvilicek and Janet Squire; 6 grandchildren, Christopher (Brenda) Chvilicek, Cory (Angi) Chvilicek, Melody Squire, Erin (Christopher) Kuncytes; Dean (Stacie) Chvilicek and Trevor Chvilicek; seven great grandchildren, Jasmine, Nolan, Jayk, Aiden, Audrey, Skyler, Delaney Rae and Mia Faye; brother-in-law, Wallace (Ruth) Olsen; sister-in-law, Carol Douglas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Angie (Art) Clausen and Joyce (Vince) White.
A memorial ceremony will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 10:30 am. Inurnment of Edward and his wife, Audrey will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on Highway 32 following the services. Relatives and Friends may meet with the family from 9:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude.
