Earl Engstrom's Obituary
Mr. Engstrom, 89, went home to be with his Lord at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare on Friday evening, February 29, 2008.
He was born in Pentoga, Mich., on January 5, 1919, to the late David and Sadie (nee: Dexter) Engstrom. He lived most of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to the former Lois Hansen in Racine on May 2, 1942.
He served with the 8th United States Air Force stationed in England from 1942 until 1945. He was a painter at Western Publishing for many years retiring in 1982.
He was a former member of Racine Bible Church and then became a member of Calvary Memorial Church. Earl enjoyed playing pool at the Salvation Army. Fishing and vacationing with family and friends, especially at Willerup Bible Camp at Lake Ripley. Most of all he loved spending time with this family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois Engstrom; children, Thomas (Claudia) Engstrom, Nancy Engstrom, son-in-law Mark Schultz all of Racine; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tony) Gutierrez, Jodie Rodriguez (former husband, Mark Rodriguez) of Racine, Erica and Kelcy Engstrom of Milwaukee and Troy Engstrom serving in the Air Force in Germany; great-grandchildren, Noah Martin, serving in the Navy in Florida, Tashca and Antonio Rodriguez, Jacob and Griffin Gutierrez of Racine; brothers, Don (Shirley) and Ray Engstrom of Arizona; brother-in-law, Mel Hansen and; sisters-in-law, Alice Hansen, Shirley (John) James of Racine; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Schultz; brother-in-law, Don Hansen; sisters-in-law, Juanita Hansen, Arlene (John) Overman and Kay Engstrom.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Memorial Church 4001 Washington Avenue on Tuesday evening, March 4, 2008, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Richard Ferrell and Rev. Nathan James officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until the time of service.
