Dorothy Ellen Kring
Racine – Dorothy E. Kring, 87, passed away peacefully at the Lake Oaks Apartments on July 3, 2015.
Dorothy was born in Racine to the late Coy and Mabel (nee: Judd) Kring on April 8, 1928. She earned a college degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and followed with a career as a secretary for the United States Air Force. She retired in 1996.
Dorothy was a faithful and long-time member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She had such an exceptional voice she was active in the church choir. She was a very giving person and gave back much of herself to others.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her nieces; Julie Thompson and Becky Kring; great nieces and nephews, Katie (Scott), Karl (Amanda), Scott, Sarah and Hawk; great grandniece, Anna; Dorothy’s sister’s niece, and grandniece; Sharon Ainsworth, and Sarah Ainsworth; and many friends from Racine and fellow members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Judd (Richard Ainsworth) Kring; two brothers, Gilbert (Mildred) Kring and Cyrus Franklin Kring; and a nephew, Steve Kring.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Fr. Bob Lambert officiating. Interment at Mound Cemetery will follow. Friends may meet with the family at the church from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Please in lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospitality Center.
