Dorothy Jane Klingenmeyer's Obituary
Dorothy Jane Klingenmeyer (nee: Creuziger), 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at The Villa at Lincoln Park, in Racine, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was born in Racine on May 10, 1927, daughter of the late Alvin and Oda (nee: Field) Creuziger.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Richard Klingenmeyer on November 16, 1946, and lived in Sturtevant most of her life.
She was one of the group of friends that put together the book, “Camp Sturtevant, Wisconsin WWII Prisoner of War Camp Summer 1944-45.”
Dorothy was also active in the Parent Teacher’s Association at the Sturtevant Elementary School. She was an active member in the Sturtevant Homemakers, and also the Girl Scouts of Sturtevant and Racine.
In her later years, Dorothy enjoyed her friends and was involved in many women’s groups in Mosinee, Wisconsin. She loved getting together with her group of friends for swimming, pontoon boating, birthdays, and single-women’s clubs. She also enjoyed community theatre, parades, and activities, along with being a member of the Pentecost Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her three children: Kenneth (Roberta) Klingenmeyer, Judith (John) Markiewicz, and Jean Klingenmeyer (Wasmundt); eight grandchildren: Kurt (Angela) Klingenmeyer, Ann (Steven) Hooper, Alan (Michelle James) Klingenmeyer, Daniel (Jill) Markiewicz, Michael (Michelle) Markiewicz, Richard (Adrienne) Markiewicz, Stephan (Josie) Wasmundt, and Samuel Wasmundt; in addition, she had ten great-grandchildren: Trenton, Ethan, and Jade Hooper, Katherine and Henry Klingenmeyer, Colton and Ava Klingenmeyer; Elijah and Jonathan Markiewicz, Juniper Markiewicz.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Richard and their daughter Kay Ann. She was also preceded in death by her brother Richard Creuziger of Racine, Rosalie Corbett (nee: Creuziger) of Shreveport, Louisiana and her great-granddaughter Cora J. Markiewicz.
Relatives and friends may meet with the family at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, November 6, 2015, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with Pastor Jacob officiating.
