Dorothy Gretz's Obituary
Dorothy B. "Breezy" Gretz, 82, passed away peacefully on Sept. 19 2007 in LaPorte Indiana where she moved two years ago to be with her daughter. Jane.
She was born on March 25, 1925 in Manitowoc, WI to the late Harry and Hazel Berns. On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to William F. Gretz at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc and continued her education at St. Mary's of Notre Dame, Indiana. She spent her time on this earth being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and she will be dearly missed. Dorothy was a loyal Cubs fans since she was a little girl. She was a member of St. John's Nepomuk Catholic church for many years before moving to Indiana where she was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She enjoyed being a member of the Christian Mothers at St. Johns.
She is survived by her children; W. James (Deborah) Gretz of Surprise, AZ, Margaret (Alan) Luther and Susan (Ralph) Mazzie of Racine, and Jane (Roger) Bernard of LaPorte, IN; grandchildren, Tim (Cheryl) Gretz and David Gretz of Algonquin, IL, Mark Gretz of Somerset, KS, Megan (Kevin) Fitzpatrick of Philadelphia, PA, Abby Mazzie of Madison; five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Colin, Justin, Austin and Ryan; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Carol Gretz. She also leaves behind her precious cat Will. She will be reunited in eternal life with her husband, Bill, who preceded her in death in 2005, parents Harry and Hazel; Sister, Doris (Leon) Jones, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (June) Gretz, Paul (Shirley) Gretz, Marion (Roy) Singer and Dorothy (Hugo) Becker, Pauline (Larry) Janzky and Robert Gretz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 700 English St. on Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at 12 Noon with Father Melvin Michalski officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet at the church on Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Gretz to St. Catherine's High School, St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church or the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter have been suggested.
