Dorothy Yelinek's Obituary
Racine- Mrs. Dorothy R. (nee: Preston) Yelinek passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the wonderful age of 103.
Dorothy was born in La Porte, Ind. on July 18, 1909 to the late Joseph and Nellie (nee: Strutz) Preston and was educated in the schools of La Porte. After high school, she had been employed as a Switch Board Operator for the LaPorte Telephone Co. until her marriage on January 8, 1930 to Gustav Yelinek. In 1952, Gustav and their daughter Norma accepted a job for Walker Manufacturing in Racine, and the family happily relocated. Gustav preceded Dorothy in death on December 13, 1967 and Norma preceded her in death on August 24, 2006.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her friends Carol, Elaine, and Bill as well as numerous friends from Harmony.
Funeral services in honor of Dorothy will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2013 with visitation beginning at 10:00am and service beginning at 11:00am with Pastor Brad Van Fossen officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church.
