Doris Ione Korlewitz's Obituary
Doris Ione Korlewitz, age 94, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 3, 2018.
Doris was born in the Township of Raymond to Henry and Grace (nee Osenga) Anderson on September 26, 1923. On November 22, 1947, at the Raymond Baptist Church, she was united in marriage to Michael Korlewitz. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2005.
Doris was a devoted Christian. She was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church for over 50 years. She studied and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute. Doris was a Sunday School teacher and Deaconess. She also entertained missionaries from overseas. Doris was a member of the Senior Christian Fellowship. Doris was a caring and loving mother and grandmother.
Doris will be deeply missed by her daughters: Kathy Lee (Tony) and Cheryl Veltman; two sons: Bob (Peg) Korlewitz and Jim (Chris) Korlewitz; grandchildren: Jennifer (Jon), Jodi (David), Megan (Mark), Rob, Lauren and Ryan; great grandchildren: Hayden, Kendall, Kylie, Grant and Dean; sister, Jean Anderson; brothers: Henry (Eleanor) Anderson and Marvin (Kay) Anderson; special friend, Elda Kuiper; and other relatives and friends. Doris was also preceded in death by sons-in-law: John Veltman and Paul Lee.
A Celebration of Doris’ life will be held at Calvary Memorial Church on Saturday afternoon, May 5, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. with Pastor Nathan James officiating. A time of visitation will from 4:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. A graveside committal will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Memorials to the Samaritan’s Purse or Calvary Memorial Church have been suggested.
