Racine- Mrs. Donna M. (nee: Rice) Olson, 71, passed away at her residence on Monday, February 13, 2012 after courageously fighting three different cancers for seven years.
She was born in Racine on March 15, 1940, the daughter of Leona (nee: Riedie) Aubry and Clayton Aubry. She was united in marriage to Lloyd "Puggy" Olson on June 30, 1989.
Donna had been employed at Fredericks Manufacturing as a taper until her retirement in 1990. She was a devoted mother to her five girls and especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sister and best friend, Willene Yohn. Besides her family, her greatest joys in life were roses, her garden, Chihuahuas, and playing in a horseshoe league.
Donna will be dearly missed by her husband, Puggy, her sister and brother-in-law, Willene (Gilbert) Yohn, her five daughters, Terry Lueckfeld, Dorothy Rayfield, Barbara Wimmler, Karen Roushia, and Annette (Ronald) O'Brien, 9 grandchildren and their spouses, 12 and a half great-grandchildren, her half sister, Bridget (Richard) Mumaw, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law.
Funeral services in honor of Donna will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00am with Rev. Dana O'Brian officiating. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:30pm and on Saturday from 9:00am until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Wheaton Franciscan Cancer Clinic of Racine (3809 Spring St. Racine, WI 53405).
Special thanks to Hospice Nurse Debbie for the wonderful, tender care of our mother and to the staff at Becker-Schoop for their wonderful care of Puggy during this time.
