Diana Lynn Bohn's Obituary
Racine - Diana Lynn Bohn, age 68, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born to Sehlus "Bud" and Bonnie (née Kammerzelt) Gerber on May 8, 1957, Diana was a lifelong resident of Racine and a woman of deep faith, compassion, and quiet strength. She was baptized, confirmed, and later married at Grace Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod), where she remained a devoted member throughout her life.
On February 13, 1982, Diana married the love of her life, Walter Bohn, at Grace Lutheran Church. Together they shared 43 loving years, building a life centered on family, faith, and mutual devotion.
Diana earned an associate degree in Food Service Management from Gateway Technical College in 1977 and dedicated over two decades of her career to Jacobson Textron, where she formed lasting friendships before retiring. Not one to stay idle, she later worked for Kenosha Family and Aging Services, Inc. (KAFASI), continuing her passion for serving others.
Her talents extended well beyond the workplace. Diana was an avid lover of Celtic art and found joy and calm in coloring, crocheting, and sharing meals at Rosie's. She especially cherished time spent with her church’s ladies' group, and her dearest friend, Diane. Diana generously donated her hand-crocheted lap blankets to cancer patients, individuals in need, and loved ones, wrapping others in warmth and care.
Diana will be profoundly missed by her beloved husband, Walter; her mother, Bonnie; her sister, Tamera Nellen; her daughters, Anna (Donnie Lee) Lawrence and Katie (Matthew) Hanks; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth Lawrence, Lucas Schabel, Ethan Hanks, and Emmett Hanks. She also leaves behind many dear extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, “Bud” Gerber; her paternal grandparents, Sehlus and Bernice Gerber; and her maternal grandparents, Samuel and Mary K. Kammerzelt.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Wagner, City of Hope, and Pastor Frahm for their care and support during Diana’s final journey.
Services to honor Diana’s life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2 pm. Friends and family are invited to gather at the church from 12 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Diana’s name to Grace Lutheran Church, 3700 Washington Ave, Racine, WI 53405.
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. -John 14:2-6 (NKJV)
