Dennis Celmer's Obituary
Dennis Celmer was welcomed into eternal life on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare/All Saints at the age of 63 years. He is now reunited with his beloved son, Scott Dennis Celmer. Dennis fought a valiant fight with cancer. He was born in Somers, WI on Sept. 15, 1944 to the late Stanley L. and Ardith (nee: Johnson) Celmer, Sr. He lived most of his life in Racine. He was united in marriage to Bonnie L. O'Brien in 1973 in Racine.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a medic. He was employed at J.I. Case Co. for 35 years retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He had a great love for the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed watching Packer games with the guys and spending time with his faithful dog, Spud.
He is survived by his loving son, Stanley C. Celmer; precious granddaughter, Lainie E. Sanders; brothers, Stanley (Barb) Celmer, Jr. Ronald Celmer, Roger (DeeDee) Celmer; sisters, Diane (Richard) Andersen, Donna (Al) Bohn, Cindy Celmer-Dallman, his former wife and close friend, Bonnie; nephews and nieces, Dale, Steve (Myanna), Renee and Jeff Celmer, Brian Andersen, Sarah and Matthew Bohn, and Daniel Dallman. He was preceded in death by his dear niece and nephews , Kristan Andersen, Adam Celmer and Saul Rosin
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church 1425 Grove Ave on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
