Deloris Woiteshek's Obituary
Tomahawk, Wisconsin - Mrs. Delores M. Woiteshek (nee: Stuart), 92, formerly of Sturtevant, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2010 at her daughter's farm with her family by her side.
Delores was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late George and Mildred (Knudson) Stuart on May 27, 1917. She had lived most of her life in Sturtevant. In Crown Point, Indiana on May 21, 1949 she was united in marriage to Fred Woiteshek who preceded him in death on October 24, 1997.
Lorie loved people, and enjoyed owning and operating the Delroy Beauty Shop in Sturtevant for over 30 years. She also worked diligently on the Sturtevant Village Board after her retirement. Her pet projects were creating and restoring the village parks, starting the summer recreation programs, establishing village youth sports and setting up a health department. She also was instrumental in the building of Kilarney Court, were she enjoyed living after leaving her farm.
Upon moving to the North woods, she was loved and cared for by the staff and residents at Grace Lodge Assisted Living, where she had her own little apartment overlooking the Wisconsin River. There she participated in boat rides, picnics and outings.
Lorie will be sadly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Claudia (Garry) Vincent; and her grandchildren, Mike (Katie) Vincent, Melissa (Adam) Slattery and Samantha Vincent; and "the love of her life", her great grandson, Archer Slattery. She is also survived by two brothers, Roy (Elaine) Stuart of Racine and George Stuart of Virginia Beach, Virginia; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Anita (John) Riley and her brother, John (Gladys) Stuart.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 7, 2009 at 11 am. Interment will be at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:30 am until service time.
A special thanks to her nieces, Roxie Linden and Kathy Kaprelian for their love and support. Lorie was a pillar of the Sturtevant Community and she carried the story of her happy little village in her heart. Memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
