Delores Ellen Hegge's Obituary
RACINE-- Delores Ellen (nee Underwood) Hegge, age 89, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Hospice.
Delores was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on January 1, 1926, the daughter of the late Odie and Edith (nee Hawkins) Underwood. She married Richard Milton Hegge at Epiphany Lutheran Church in Racine on April 23, 1960. Delores would wish to be remembered as a homemaker for most of her life, but she also worked at A & E Manufacturing for 20 years and at Hathaway Food Store.
Delores was a member of Pentecost Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed this activity with Richard. Delores was an expert gardener and enjoyed nurturing her plants. She was an excellent seamstress, and made beautiful clothing for her daughter, Gloria.
Delores is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughter, Gloria (Michael) Cortez; her son, Richard Michael Hegge; her grandsons: Michael Cortez and Craig Cortez; her great-grandchildren: Chase, Zoey, and Easton Cortez; her sisters: Joan Pritt, Shirley Pfaff, and Myrna Vance; sisters-in-law, Gene (David) Standiford and Pat Underwood; her brother-in-law, Charles Miner, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Mulcahy; her infant daughter, Mary Anne Hegge; her brothers: Ralph, Eugene, Garrett (Rosie), Donald, and Armen Underwood; her sisters: Mildred (Edward) Schaeffer, Helen (James) Layton, and Margie (Eddie) Radtke; and her sister-in-law, Lois Miner.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin.
