David Geschke's Obituary
RACINE - David Alan Geschke, 56, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, February 17, 2008. He was born in Racine on April 5, 1951, the second child of Majel and Walter Geschke. A lifelong Racine resident, David graduated from Washington Park High School in 1969. He joined the United States Air Force upon graduation, where he spent two years in Taiwan and two years in Alaska. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, last working Friday, February 15, 2008. While with the Postal Service, he held several different jobs including Mail Carrier, Supervisor, Interim Postmaster, and most recently as Worker Compensation Specialist at the Milwaukee Post Office. David was active in the Racine bowling community for much of his life and was currently in two leagues. He achieved perfection in the sport by recording a sanctioned 300 game on January 7, 2007. He was also active in golf. Here too, he was able to achieve his goal of a sanctioned hole-in-one. David began participating in curling and was a member of the Racine Curling Club. He was also an amateur radio operator, carrying the call sign AA9HL, and had been involved with Racine Megacycle Club, QCWA, and the Lakeshore Repeater Association. Perhaps David's most enjoyable times were those spent with his three grandchildren, Brandon, Kaylee, and Leah. He particularly enjoyed taking Brandon to Racine Raiders football games. David is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Andy Chastain; and son, Matthew; three grandchildren, Brandon, Kaylee, and Leah; four brothers and sisters, Diane (Dennis) Jetzer of Madison, Dennis (Shari) Geschke of Topeka, Kan., Debra Erickson of Odessa, Texas, and Daniel Geschke of Racine; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
