Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
While I haven’t seen Dan much over the last 50 years, our teenage years when he lived on Center Street in Racine have always held fond memory for me.
Like ice-fishing on Eagles Lake when it was 20 degrees below zero with a wind chill of I don’t know what. The fish were supposed to be biting, of course, but they weren’t. So after 3 or 4 hours of standing in the middle of the lake – freezing – he gave up. I was ready give up hours before him, but I couldn’t let my partner down. When we finally made it back to his car (1953 Pontiac with the Indian head ornament on the hood that lit up), we finally thawed out when we made it half way to Racine.
