Daniel Higley's Obituary
Sturtevant - Mr. Daniel Lewis Higley, 53, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints on Sunday, April 8, 2007.
Daniel L. Higley was born in Fukuoka, Japan to James E. and Kimiyo (nee: Kinoshita) Higley on January 27, 1954. He had lived in Hanover Park, Ill for 22 years and in Hoffman Estates, Ill for 24 years. He spent the past 7 years in Sturtevant.
Mr. Higley was employed by Northwest Airlines where he had worked for the past 31 years. He was a member of Train Collectors Association and the Lionel Railroader Club. Photography was his passion and his dream was to open a photography studio named Whistle Stop Studios. He was very much into bicycling with the Wheeling Wheelman's Bicycling Club. Daniel was a sports enthusiast. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He loved the Bears and the White Sox. He was an animal lover and enjoyed camping.
Daniel is survived by his two children, Katherine Higley of Park City, Ill and Eric Higley of Bartlett, Ill; his fianc?e, Bonnie Warren of Sturtevant; his parents, James E. and Kimiyo Higley of Hanover Park, Ill; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Carol Higley of Streamwood, Ill., Shirley (Brian) Colona of Kingwood, TX, Linda (John) Russell of Palatine, Ill., and Amy (Timothy) Kelley of Carpentersville, Ill.; Bonnie Warren's children and grandchildren, Matt Yost, Dawn (Rich) Kling and their daughter, Dakota; Jenni (Jason) Chappa and their sons, Christopher and Jordan; and his former wife, Linda Higley of Streamwood, Ill. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Friday morning, April 13, 2007 at 11 am with Rev. Jeff Van Etten officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening, April 12, 2007 from 5 until 8 pm. In keeping with Daniel's wishes, he will be cremated. If you wish to make a donation, a memorial to the American Cancer Society has been suggested.
