Colleen Mae Wittig's Obituary
Colleen Mae Wittig (née Dargin), age 77, passed away on January 27, 2026.
Colleen was born on October 30, 1948, in Racine, to the late William and Gladys (née Zimmerman) Dargin. She was united in marriage to Charles Wittig on July 5, 1969, at Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine. Together they shared many wonderful years of love and companionship until Charles’s passing on August 17, 2023.
Colleen graduated from Washington Park High School in 1967. She worked in retail at Farm & Fleet for 19 years before retiring. In her free time, Colleen found joy in crocheting - especially making booties for hospital children and treasured items for her family. She also enjoyed puzzles and tole painting, hobbies that reflected her patience and creativity. Colleen will be remembered for her sassy and spunky sense of humor. She also loved her cats dearly. Above all, being a mom was her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Her love for her family was constant and generous, and she gave endlessly of herself to those she held dear.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters: Wendy (Kyle) Henrichs, Victoria (Cliff) Freese, and Shelly (Tim) Clarke; her grandchildren: Peyton Henrichs, Jessica (Kyle) Roeder, Alexandra (Pete) Mulloy, Brandon Clarke, Lily Freese, Jacob Freese, and Ruby Freese; her great-grandchildren: Daphne Roeder, Fergus Roeder, and Dashall Mulloy; her sisters: Pat (Phil) Gilbertson, Bonnie Christensen, Kim (Jeff) Galipeau, and Debra Spaulding; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Colleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Wittig; her brother, Bill Dargin; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and John Weizer.
She will be remembered for her humor, her kindness, her creativity, and the deep love she had for her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed.
