Clyde Wiersum's Obituary
Racine - Mr. Clyde E. Wiersum, 89, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 8, 2009.
Clyde was born in Kenosha, to the late Charles and Mae (nee: Balk) Wiersum on April 7, 1920. He was united in marriage to Clara Hemkes in 1946, who preceded him in death in 1980. In Racine, he then married Marjorie Holtje in the Fall of 1981.
Clyde is a member of the Racine Bible Church. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. during World War II as a teletype operator in England. He was employed by Wisconsin Bell / AT&T as a manager.
Clyde is survived by his wife Marjorie; his son, Rev. James (Pamela) Wiersum; two daughters, Cynthia (Lester) Gierach and Jayne (Kevin) Langnes; Marjorie's children, Phil (Jamie) Holtje and Steve (Christine) Holtje; four grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Harold, Quintin, and Myron. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Roger.
Funeral services will be held at the Racine Bible Church,12505 Spring Street, on Friday evening, September 11, 2009 at 7 pm with Rev. John Miesel officiating. Interment will be private at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday evening from 5 pm until the time of service.
