Clara Brown's Obituary
Racine- Mrs. Clara M. Brown (nee: Schoeffler), 82, passed away on April 3, 2009 at her residence.
Mrs. Brown was born in Germany to the late Fritz and Rose (nee: Gilliard) Schoeffler on May 19, 1926. She came to the United States at a young age and lived most of her life in Racine. On June 24, 1944 she was united in marriage to Gerald Brown and together they were married for over 62 years.
She was employed at Welch electric for over 25 years and enjoyed gardening, furniture restoration, and was an avid reader. But, most of all she was very devoted to her family.
Clara is survived by her children, Nanette (Jim) Cumbie of Racine, Michael (Donna) Brown of Mokulumni Hill, CA, Claire 'Pete' (Bob) Kolarik of Union Grove, Cynthia Bower of Racine, Timothy (Terry) Brown, and Marye Joe (David) Hansen of Yorkville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Honey Lou Miezckowski, Sandy (Dave) Dower; one brother, Robert (Pauline) Schoeffler, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends to numerous to count. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, a granddaughter, Julie Bower, and one brother, Fred Schoeffler.
A memorial service for Mrs. Brown will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Wilson Funeral Home at 6:00p.m with Rev. Kevin Mieczkowski officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home from 4:00pm until service time.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested. The family would also like to give special thanks to nurse Mary Jensen and CNA Annie from Wheaton Franciscan Hospice.
