Cindy Marie Boedecker's Obituary
Cindy Marie (née Schmidt) Boedecker, age 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on February 22, 1955, in Racine, Wisconsin, Cindy was the cherished daughter of Florn Nicholas Schmidt and Marie Genevieve Kinyon. She grew up with a bright spirit and a creative heart, graduating from Washington Park High School in 1973. On September 21, 1981, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Charles Boedecker, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Racine. Together they built more than a marriage—they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership for over forty years.
Cindy’s creativity was woven into everything she touched. She poured her heart into sewing, crafting uniforms for the Wisconsin Army National Guard and stitching blankets, clothing, and stuffed animals that became treasured keepsakes for family and friends. Music was another thread running through her life. From her early days learning the accordion to her lifelong love of polka, she found joy in rhythm and movement. She shared that joy generously as a dance instructor with Arthur Murray Dance Studios, where her warmth and enthusiasm lit up every room.
At home, Cindy expressed her love through food. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, where the aroma of baked chicken, cranberry chicken, hearty meatloaf, or one of her famous cheesecakes meant that family was gathered and cared for. Her meals were more than recipes; they were gifts, made with patience, pride, and affection.
Cindy leaves behind a legacy of love that will be carried forward by her mother, Marie Kinyon; her devoted husband, Kenneth Boedecker; her children, Adam Boedecker, Chris Boedecker, and Ben (Cristel) Boedecker; and her granddaughters, Sabrina Boedecker, Annalysa Boedecker, and her grandson Barnabas Boedecker, who brought her endless joy. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Ronald (Carol) Schmidt, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were brightened by her kindness.
She is preceded in death by her father, Florn Nicholas Schmidt, whom she now joins in eternal rest.
The family will honor Cindy’s life in a private celebration, holding close the memories that will forever keep her nearby.
They extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Neurological Intensive Care Unit at Froedtert Hospital for their gentle care, compassion, and patience during Cindy’s final days.
