Charles Underhill's Obituary
Charles R. Underhill, 77, of Racine, Wisconsin, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, October 13, 2014 at Racine Hospice House.
He was born on May 21, 1937 in Salina, Kansas to Craig and Laura (Widler) Underhill. Charles married
Mary J. Bauswell on June 16, 1964 in Wichita, Kansas.
Charles graduated from Wichita High School, North in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked at Beech Aircraft, retiring in 1999. Charles spent his retirement visiting friends and family in Iowa and Kansas. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows to show his Studebaker, with his buddy, Bob. He also loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and spend time with his granddog, Dolly.
Charles is survived by three daughters; Nancy (Chuck) Rodriguez of Wichita, Kansas, Cindy (Kenny) McBride of Edmond, Oklahoma and Mary (Craig) Shimetz of Racine, Wisconsin. He is further survived by his grandchildren; Kylie (Jeremy) Smith, Katie McBride, Joshua (Wendy) McBride, Joshua (Stacie) Grewing, Jared (Kendra) Grewing, and Jacob Grewing, Clayton Shimetz, SPC Samuel Shimetz, US Army.
He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Marguerite Underhill, sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and M.X. Charles, and by 3 nieces, 3 nephews, and 13 grandnieces and grandnephews. He is also survived by special friends, Richard George and Bob Sturtevant.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Craig and Laura Underhill, and his wife, Mary Joan.
There will be a Memorial Service for Charles in Racine in the spring of 2015.
