Cathy Marie Rannow's Obituary
Cathy Marie (née Rohan) Rannow, age 70, passed away peacefully at Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with her loving family at her side.
Cathy was born on October 31, 1955, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Jerome Andrew and Geraldine Marie (née LeFave) Rohan.
A proud graduate of Washington Park High School, Cathy dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She found deep fulfillment in her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant, especially in providing in-home care, where her compassion, patience, and genuine kindness left lasting impressions on the lives she touched.
Cathy was known for her generous and loving spirit. She delighted in spoiling others, often surprising loved ones with thoughtful birthday gestures, bright bouquets of flowers, or sharing her cherished love of kringle. Cathy enjoyed expressing herself visually and adding personal touch with her artistic ways of drawing and doodling on greeting cards and notes to others. These small but meaningful acts reflected her big heart and her natural gift for making people feel special.
An avid Green Bay Packers fan, Cathy eagerly anticipated each football season, proudly cheering on her team with a spirited “Go Pack Go!” Her enthusiasm for the game was contagious and brought joy to those around her.
Above all, Cathy treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She was frequently found doting on them, extravagantly indulging them with affection, attention, and unconditional love. Her presence in their lives was a constant source of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories.
She will be deeply missed by her loving children: Eric (Melissa), Jeremy (Nicole), and Joseph Rannow; her grandchildren, Nikki Rannow (fiancé Jonathan Turner), Eric Jr., Tyson, Cole, Carmen, and Eva; her sisters, Diane Hayes and Nancy (Brad) Stewart; her brother, Kenneth Rohan; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Geraldine Rohan; her sisters, Julieanne Burbey and Joyce Berens; and her nephew, Robert Berens.
Per Cathy’s wishes, a private family celebration of her life will occur at a later date. The family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Cathy’s family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff of Hospice Alliance, especially Regina and Julie, as well as the staff at Hospice Alliance Hospice House. Their kindness, dignity, and unwavering support brought comfort during a difficult time and will never be forgotten.
Cathy’s legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
