Catherine Stapleman's Obituary
Racine - Catherine Edna Stapleman,
86, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2013.
Catherine was born in Caledonia to the late Phillip and Edna (nee: Noe) Fellner on January 26, 1927. She was a graduate of William Horlick High School class of 1945. She was employed by St. Mary's Hospital where she met her future husband, Roy August Stapleman. They were united in marriage at St. Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia on August 21, 1948. They were married nearly 59 years before he preceded her in death on August 10, 2007.
Catherine also worked part-time at Cinema I & II and as a child caregiver throughout the years, but staying home and taking care of her family was more important her. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Catherine was a member of St. Mary's on the Lake Catholic Church. She and Roy were also former members of the Fifth Street Yacht Club. She had many pastimes including: bingo, playing slot machines, watching TV, bowling, reading, traveling and camping. But her favorite pastime was playing cards weekly with her friends.
Catherine will be dearly missed by her children, Linda Davies, Paul (Wendy) Stapleman, Robert (Sue) Stapleman and Judith (Tom) Kroes; grandchildren, Adam (Brooke) Kraft, Amanda (Jason) Ingle, Alex Stapleman, Stacey (David) Engevold, Rebecca Stapleman, Thom (Jillian) Stapleman and Kimberly (Juan) Garcia; great grandchildren, Mikayla Haase, Adison and Aden Kraft, Makennah Ingle, Emily, Samuel, Nicholas and Paige Engevold, Logan Stapleman and Benjamin Garcia. She is also survived by one brother and two sisters-in-law, John (Helen) Fellner and Mary Ann Fellner; special cousin, Hazel Keller, many nieces, nephews, other cousins and special friends. Catherine was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Phil, Marion and Margaret Fellner.
Visitation for Mrs. Stapleman will be held at St. Mary's on the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Drive, on Monday evening, November 18, 2013 from 4:30 PM until 5:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 5:30 PM. Private inurnment will take place at Forrest Hills Memorial Park in Oak Creek. Condolences may be made at www.wilsonfuneralhomeracine.com.
