Casey John Shaw's Obituary
Mount Pleasant - Casey John Shaw,18, passed away unexpectedly on October 2, 2020.
Casey was born in Racine to Rustin and Colleen (nee Christensen) Shaw on March 28, 2002. Casey was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He was a faithful member at United Lutheran Church for 2 years. Casey recently graduated from Case High School. He worked at Pick ‘N Save for almost two years as a cart collector and a bagger. On his own accord, Casey enlisted in the United States Army National Guard on December 18, 2019. He attended monthly drills where he trained for bootcamp. He wanted to pursue a career in dentistry in the Army National Guard. Casey enjoyed many things such as Rap music, ping pong, watching movies with his siblings and was an avid gamer. Casey played baseball for six years and was a very skilled basketball player, thanks to his older brother.
Casey touched many lives and his bright spirit will be deeply missed.
Left to cherish Casey’s memories are his parents, Rustin and Colleen (nee Christensen) Shaw; siblings: Alex Shaw and Hailey Shaw; grandparents: Pete Christensen, Sandy Christensen, and Sandra Shaw; uncles: Ryan Christensen and David (Jordyn) Shaw; aunts: Candy (Tony) George, Karma (Tom) Britson, Bobbi (Steve) Nelson, and Rebecca Shaw; step-uncles: Dennis (Lauren) Haas, Shawn (Tracy) Haas, and Greg (Carrie) Haas; step-aunt, Heidi (Chad) Gonzalez-Haas; and many cousins.
Casey is preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Shaw; grandmother, Jane Stoneburner; step-grandfather, Ed Stoneburner; great-grandmothers: Zella Balosky and Edna Taylor.
A public visitation will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM on October 9, 2020. A private family service and interment at West Lawn Memorial Park will take place on Saturday with full military honors for Casey. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time. Guests may be required to wait outside until others leave the funeral home. Anyone planning on attending Casey’s visitation will also be required to wear a face covering/mask upon entering the funeral home along with following social distancing guidelines. Memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Detective Chris Richardt, Investigator Tracy Hintz, Sergeant Dale Swart, the Mount Pleasant Police Department, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office and the Racine Police Department for their tireless efforts in searching for Casey and their endless care and compassion.
