Carl Richard Larrabee's Obituary
RACINE – Carl Richard Larrabee, age 83, of Racine, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
On January 25, 1934, Carl was born to Jackson and Esther (nee Guite) Larrabee in Dunn County, WI. He was a 1953 graduate of Park High School. Carl was united in marriage to Diane Helding on December 5, 1953 at Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Racine, WI. He was the co-owner of General Tool and Die Company, Inc. and worked there for 42 years, retiring in 1996.
Carl was a lifetime member of the Church of the Nazarene. He was involved with Harvest Outreach for 35 years and was a founding board member. Carl was mechanically minded and could fix anything. He held a patent for the Quiet Doorman, which is still in production. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman. Above all, Carl was dedicated family man and taught them to love the Lord.
Left to cherish Carl’s memory are his wife of 63 years, Diane Larrabee; his sons: Scott (Barbara) Larrabee, Mark (Deborah) Larrabee, and Robin (Sheila) Larrabee; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents: Jackson and Esther Larrabee; his seven siblings and their spouses: Zilpha (Ole) Brensdal, Isabell (Eugene) Smith, Alvina (Aubrey) Stibgen, John (Mary) Larrabee, Harmon (Doris) Larrabee, Lamont (Eileen) Larrabee, and Ruben (Betty) Larrabee.
Funeral services for Carl will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene (2100 Taylor Ave, Racine, WI) with Pastor Steve Starkey officiating. There will be a visitation at Wilson Funeral Home (1212 Lathrop Avenue, Racine, WI) on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Taylor Avenue Church of the Nazarene from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
