Bonnie Lee Weise's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Mom Bonnie “B” Lee Weise
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend, Bonnie Lee Weise. She was born on October 22, 1952, in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, to Jana (née Ashworth) Knoeck.
Bonnie was a woman of incredible strength: tenacious, spirited, sassy, organized, and full of life. She faced life's challenges with determination and always found a way to keep moving forward.
Bonnie met the love of her life, Thomas John Weise, when he saw her dancing with elegant style and asked her to dance; she graciously accepted. They were married on January 10, 1987, in Menomonee Falls and shared 40 wonderful years together.
Bonnie was employed at Gateway Technical College for 20 years as a master scheduler, a role that reflected her exceptional organizational skills, before retiring in 2014.
While Bonnie loved her entire family deeply, nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren. They were truly the light of her life. Whether she was cheering them on, teaching them something new, or simply spending time with them, every moment was precious. She proudly wore the title of "Grandma Donut," a nickname that always made her smile. She especially loved playing games with them, even if she never quite accepted losing a game of Old Maid to Mel Mel.
The kitchen was one of her happiest places. Bonnie was famous for baking the most delicious apple pies, and some of her family's most treasured memories were made beside her, where she patiently taught her grandchildren how to crack eggs, measure ingredients, and bake with love. Those recipes and moments will be cherished for generations.
Bonnie also loved watching game shows, keeping everything neat and organized, and filling every room with her quick wit and unmistakable personality. She had a spark that could never be ignored and a love that will never be forgotten.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that the lessons she taught, the traditions she created, and the unconditional love she gave will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and everyone blessed enough to know her.
Bonnie will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas J. Weise; her son, Kevin Helrey; her daughter, Shannon McCumber (partner, Jillian); her granddaughter, Selena (Eric) Ziino; her great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Abraham, and Ruth; her granddaughter, Samantha McCumber; her great-granddaughter, Lilly; her daughter Ashely Parenteau; her best son-in-law, Matt Parenteau; and her grandchildren, Maddy Parenteau, and Melanie Parenteau; her brother, Jim “Skeeter” (Lori) Ashworth; and niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bonnie is now reunited with her beloved mother, Jana Knoeck; her brother, Glen Ashworth; and her sister, Kathy Ashworth, all of whom preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks those who wish to honor Bonnie’s memory to consider making a donation to help with final expenses. Contributions may be sent to the family at 6503 San Marino Drive, Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin 53406. Your kindness, support, and generosity during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Alliance for the exceptional care, compassion, and comfort they provided to Bonnie during her final days. Their kindness, dignity, and support meant so much to Bonnie and her loved ones, bringing peace and comfort during a difficult time.
Whether one’s preference was Bonnie, B, or Grandma Donut, she will be missed beyond words, loved beyond measure, and remembered forever.
"A grandmother's love is a gift that lives on forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind."
