Beverly Jean Scholzen's Obituary
Beverly Jean Scholzen, age 87, passed away on February 7, 2018, at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI.
On February 9, 1930, Beverly was born to William and Lillian (nee Urhausen) Lequia in Racine, WI. She attended area schools. Beverly was united in marriage to Charles Theodore Scholzen at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Racine on May 8, 1948. Charles preceded her in death on November 18, 2011. Beverly was employed at Hamilton Beach for 10 years and then worked in Food Service at Gifford School for 20 years.
Beverly was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Racine. She enjoyed playing card games. In her younger years, Beverly was fond of bowling, golfing and cross stitching.
Left to cherish Beverly’s memory are her son, Mark (Lisa) Scholzen of Union Grove, WI; her daughter Jodi (Steve) Lindsey of Washington; her daughter, Lynn (John) Ravelli of Oregon; her grandchildren: Nicholas Scholzen, David Scholzen, Carson Shipley, Kristen Ehredt, and Lauren Salmela; great-granddaughter, Madison Ehredt; godchildren Ellen Lantz and Chris Callewaert; sisters-in-law: Joan Potenziani, Marie Poehlmann, and Mary Jane Lequia, and other relatives and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her brothers: William, Donald, Richard, Alvin, Fred Lequia, and sister, Shirley Durben.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (6400 Spring Street, Racine, WI). There will be a time of visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Please consider memorials made in Beverly’s name to Our Harmony Club in Sturtevant, WI or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
