Betty Schoening's Obituary
Racine - Mrs. Betty L. Schoening, 86, passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 09, 2011.
Betty was born in Racine to Otto and Dagmar Jensen on May 21, 1925. She was united in marriage to Louis Robert Schoening in 1947.
Betty was a graduate of Washington Park High School. She was employed by Getty's Manufacturing Company as an electrical technician for 15 years and as a supervisor for five years before she retired. Betty was a member of the Racine Belles and enjoyed softball, golf and bowling. She traveled up North with her husband to go fishing in Minocqua. She also enjoyed visiting National Parks especially Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.
Betty is survived by her son, Tom; one daughter-in-law, Denise; granddaughter, Kristin (Andrew) Risler; grandson, Jason Schoening; brother, James (Laurie) Jensen of Houston, Texas; two nieces, Joyce Braid and Diane Dembrowski (Ken Kehl) and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Robert Schoening at the age of 51 in 1975; one son, Robert Louis Schoening at the age of 31 in 1986; two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:30 am with Rev. Alice Horton officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 8:30 am until the time of service. Private interment will be held at Graceland cemetery.
