Barbara Rosemary O'Hare's Obituary
Barbara R. O'Hare (nee Bach) died peacefully in her home on Sunday, May 2, 2021. She was born on June 24, 1937 in Zion, IL to John and Ruth (nee Lubke) Bach. She married Melvin O'Hare in 1957.
She is survived by three children: JoLynn (David) Oten (Racine), Don (Sherry) O'Hare (Burlington), and Kris (Kevin) Liesner (Racine), daughter-in-law Victoria O'Hare, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her son Michael (Victoria) O'Hare in 2002 and her husband Melvin O'Hare in 2011.
Her Christian faith and her family were the most important things to her. She was a prayer warrior. She loved her cats, most recently rescue kitty Liesl. She enjoyed camping, playing cards with her family, knitting, and hosting movie nights in her apartment. She had an extensive collection of nativity scenes from around the world, which she proudly showed to visitors during the Christmas season. She was involved with Boy and Girl Scouts, plus many ministries at church, including AWANA, Urban Camp, and White Cross.
There will be a private family gathering to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Samaritan's Purse or Harvest Outreach Food Pantry would be appreciated.
